Pricing

For the general public, non-profits, and commercial users

Dugan Hall may be used for an event that last 6 hours or less for $300 per use. This fee is necessary in order to pay staff who are required to be present, as well as to pay for utilities, cleaning, maintenance, and other related expenses. Longer events have additional fees that can be negotiated in advance.

For Members

Some membership tiers include discounted use of the room.

For Non-profit Partner Organizations

The Mill Museum has a longstanding history of working with other nonprofit organizations in town on community-related projects where our missions align and where our membership, directors, or staff overlap. For these nonprofits within the Town of Windham, the visiting organization needs to be able to manage, prepare, and clean-up the room. This discounted rate is possible because the Mill Museum does not need to pay staff to be present in this case. For out of town nonprofits corresponding agreements are determined on a case by case basis.

Availability

Scheduling depends on the availability of both the space and staff. The Museum makes the space available only when it will not interfere with our own programs, events, exhibits, or other activities, and when Museum staff and/or volunteers are able to be present.

Policies

Insurance Requirement

The Town of Windham requires that all users other than local non-profits must provide a certificate of liability insurance naming both the Windham Textile and History Museum and the Town of Windham as co-insured at least one week before the event. Single day event liability insurance is typically inexpensive and can be purchased from many different insurance companies.

For any event serving alcohol the insurance policy must also cover alcohol-related liability.

Food and Alcohol

The Museum is not a licensed food provider or food service facility; users supply their own food and drink. Food can not be prepared during the event on-site. No alcohol may not be sold on-site without a proper license, and all food and drink must comply with state and local law. The user, not the Museum, is responsible for compliance.

Equipment

Users may not bring in or operate major electrical equipment (air conditioners, amps, stage lighting, etc.) without the Museum’s prior permission.

Snow Removal

The Museum clears the entrance walkway for normal access. Users may arrange additional snow removal at their own expense.

Museum Access

Access to Dugan Hall does not include access to the rest of the Museum. Depending on staffing you may schedule a guided group tour to take place during your event for an additional fee.

Ongoing Use

Groups or individuals requesting recurring use (weekly, biweekly, monthly) will be considered case-by-case. Ongoing users agree to all other provisions of this policy, plus the following:

  a. Storage. Due to limited space, users may not store property at the Museum between uses.
  b. Scheduling priority. Museum activities take precedence over ongoing-use bookings. The Museum will give at least two weeks’ notice of any conflict, and the user is not charged for time lost to a Museum activity.
  c. Cancellation. Either party may end an ongoing-use agreement with two weeks’ notice.
