Our Mission

The Windham Textile and History Museum  preserves, interprets, and shares the rich local legacy of textile production; highlighting its social, cultural, economic and technological impact on our community, the region, and beyond.

Our Vision

MUSEUM AS A COMMUNITY ASSET:  Spotlight the unique role the museum plays preserving, interpreting and sharing stories of people brought together in the community – past and present.

FINANCIAL VIABILITY:  Ensure museum financial viability – the museum must insure sufficient funds for operations and long term survival.

PATRON ENGAGEMENT: Increase patron engagement with historic an
d contemporary material – the museum must continue to collect, preserve and share, the stuff of relevant history with patrons.

MUSEUM MANAGEMENT: Employ staff and recruit board members who value the role and mission of the museum. 

BOARD ACTIVITY:  Develop Board of Directors as stewards of the museum.
